Use external videos

For on demand and automated webinars you can use external video files, in this document we’ll explain which video files you can use and how to enter them correctly.

Importing an external video is possible when choosing "Edit webinar", under the heading "Webinar".

Using YouTube videos requires the video URL.

This URL will look a little something like this: The xxx part is different for every individual video.

The YouTube video needs to be published as “Public” or “Hidden” (found under “Basic information”). A hidden video isn’t publicly available, but can be played in WebinarGeek in this case.

You also need to enable video embeds (under "Distribution options" > "Allow embeds").

Using Vimeo videos requires the video URL to the MP4-version of the video.

Here you’ll find more detailed information about where to find this link in Vimeo.

Remember only Vimeo Premium, Business and Pro accounts can use this functionality.

Other MP4 videos

At its core, every MP4 video can be imported as long as it’s publicly available. We currently automatically check if “mp4” occurs somewhere in the link, so please be aware of that.

Please verify with your hosting provider or hosting service whether sufficient capacity is available to stream your video file to the expected number of (simulteanous) viewers.
