Upload your videos in WebinarGeek

19 May 2021 - 5 min

Our development team has been working real hard on something that totally uplifts your webinar game at WebinarGeek.

We believe that if you are able to operate smoothly on our platform, it’s likely that you will deliver better webinars when you’re live.

So with that in mind, we made your workspace at WebinarGeek quite more interesting! Introducing the Video Page.

Our video page is like having your own Youtube channel - within WebinarGeek.

A personal video store where you can neatly organize all your video content. Where you can pick a video to show during your webinar and put it back when you’re done.

You can find the videos page in your account, between ‘webinars’ and ‘channel’ in the upper left corner.

In the upper right corner on the videos page, you can upload new videos. We’ll get to that in a minute.

Easily locate the video you need with the search bar in the middle. It really is like having a video store clerk pointing out to you where to find that particular one you need.
With the release of this videos page, you can better organize your webinar workspace.

Now that you have your own video store, let’s fill it up with awesome content! This is where you’ll need the video upload feature. Now hit that +New Video button!

You’ll see two options:

Let's look at Recordings first:

When you click recording, you’ll be directed to the WebinarGeek editor where you can directly start creating your live webinar. When you’re done hosting your webinar, it will automatically be stored onto the video page. So no need to download the replay and upload it as a video file.

The upload feature is designed so you can take any video from your computer and upload it directly into WebinarGeek. Right from your video page, you can use the video for on demand or automated webinars. You can also edit details such as the video title and remove it again if you’re not using the video anymore and want to keep your video store tidy.

When selecting a video from your computer for upload, take into account that the maximum file size is 5 GB. When you have a file that is larger than that, you can either compress it into a smaller file right from your video editing software or use a free compressor tool such as handbrake which you can download

In this video, we’ll show you how to compress a video file while keeping the best quality settings:

Recommendations for optimal quality are as follows:

  • Minimum 1280x720 pixels | ideally 1920x1080
  • If you upload a video with a larger resolution than 1920x1080, we will scale it back to the full HD resolution of 1920x1080
  • Video bitrate needs to be at least 2 Mbps, ideally 5 Mbps
  • Aspect ratio of 16:9 (landscape)

Once you have selected a video file from your computer, the upload bar will indicate to you how long it takes to place the video in your video store.

We want your viewers to have a real cinematic experience when watching your videos. This is why we convert the video to different qualities and resolutions. You can imagine that with larger files it can take a while. So good to plan uploading videos right before lunchtime!

Please note! Do not close the notification screen of your browser. Otherwise the upload will be canceled.

You may want to lend out your beautiful lined up videos to other users in your account. Basically, uploaded videos are always visible to the account owner and manager.
After having uploaded the video, click on the ‘options’ button next to the video and ‘edit details’. Here you can toggle the option on ‘make this video available for all users’.

Back in the days, you had to bring back the VHS or DVD you rented and put it in the video or dvd recorder. We speed up the process. It’s like importing the video directly into the screen, while you’re still standing in the video store.

You do this by clicking on the options button and select ‘create as on demand webinar’ or ‘create as automated webinar’. Then, right from your webinar page, you can select the video you want to show.

As many others, this feature was designed and built based upon your feedback. So now that it is out there, we would love to hear what you think of it! Your feedback can be placed in the chat and is highly appreciated.
