Fact: If you want people to register for your webinar, you have to do some promotion.

You probably already know this. And our guess is that you also know that there are many ways to promote your webinar.

An email campaign can be very successful or you can write about your webinar in a blog post[AV1] .

But today we’re talking about another promotion option that can help you reach people who may not even know about you yet: Social Media.

Social media channels, such as Facebook and LinkedIn, are known for boosting the reach of your message.

But hold your horses. It’s not magic.

You have to put some thought into creating a good quality post, if you want people to click on it. That way, you increase the chance that people who read your post, also visit your registration page. So have you decided to create a post? Then, consider these useful tips!

Tip 1: Use an image

First of all, make sure that your post contains an image. Since people process visual information much faster than text, using an image is a great way to capture your audience’s attention. Engagement in posts containing images is much higher than in posts with nothing but text. The result: more clicks!

Don’t forget to add a link to your registration page in your social post. It will let the reader know where to register straight away. Make it easy for them to register.

Tip 3: Be relevant

To get people to register, they have to be interested in what you’re telling them. So make sure the content of your posts is relevant. It is better to post fewer messages, but useful ones, than posting irrelevant information every day.

Tip 4: Keep it short

The most effective posts contain 80 tokens or less. So keep your posts concise. (See what we did here?)

Tip 5: Advertize on Facebook

Did you know that you can pay Facebook to promote your message? Advertizing this way helps you expand your reach. Just tell Facebook who your target audience is and your post will be shown to this group of people. It’s that simple.

Tip 6: Choose the best timing

Before you post your message, you may want to check when your potential viewers are most active on social media. Research shows that engagement is generally highest between 1 and 4 pm, but it depends on your audience. So, find out more about engagement in your target audience and adjust your planning to this information.

Tip: If you have a business page on Facebook, the statistics will tell you exactly when your target audience has been most active. You can use this data to plan your post.

Tip 7: Switch up the content

When you’re learning to play the guitar, repetition is a good thing. But that doesn’t go for your social media posts.

Don’t repeat the same information over and over. Instead, tell your audience different things about your webinar in every post. This keeps your posts interesting.

Tip 8: Interact

Social media are made for communicating. And it doesn’t have to be a one way street. You can use your post to talk to your audience.

What better way to start a conversation is there than asking a question? For example: Have you registered for this webinar?

By doing this, you stimulate interaction and really involve your audience. If you decide to ask a question, do it at the end of the post. That way you will get the most responses.
