10 years of WebinarGeek

A decade of Geekery. From idea to award-winning software.

Anniversary logo

Ten years ago, we were just a few geeks with a dream (and way too many Post-its). Today, we’re a platform used by thousands to host webinars.

So grab a coffee and scroll down memory lane with us.

"Creating a SaaS company is not just about features and a kick ass product.
It's about a sparkling culture"

2015 - 2019

All-in-one software

Started by selling a beloved Nike collection and a “tiny” €175k investment, we became the only Dutch webinar platform. Webinars were new, fries were sacred (Friesday!), coffee was fuel—and our first 500 customers joined the ride.

Product

Back in the day, WebinarGeek was basically a cool project with big ambitions. The early product? Clean, fast, built on top of Google Hangouts, and did exactly what it said on the tin: host a webinar, interact with viewers, and send that all-important follow-up mail. No frills. No fluff. No excuses.

Customers

Our first users were true pioneers. The kind of people who read changelogs for fun and were totally cool with beta bugs. They didn’t just tolerate our MVP—they cheered us on and sent us emails like: “Hey, love it. Also, here’s 17 things that broke.”

Culture

We lived by “Just do it”—and we really did. Everyone jumped into chat support, fixed bugs, brewed coffee, and hosted webinars to showcase the product in action. No silos, no drama. Just a bunch of geeks figuring it out together, one broadcast (and fries) at a time.

People

A small but unstoppable team doing marketing, sales, development, and support (sometimes all in one day). No departments, just dedication. If something needed doing, someone just did it.

Staying in touch with your target audience

COVID hit, and suddenly the whole world needed a webinar platform. Fast. While sourdough starters took over Instagram, we were scaling servers, answering live chat like our lives depended on it, and somehow staying sane in our sweatpants.

Product

As the world turned to webinars (literally overnight), our servers had a moment of “oh no” followed by “we got this.” We scaled like crazy, rolled out new features, and made sure everyone—from solo coaches to big-name brands—could go live without a hitch.

Customers

This was the era of “you’re on mute.” Suddenly, everyone needed a webinar tool yesterday, and WebinarGeek became the go-to platform for teams across the world. We were the digital stage when physical ones shut down.

Culture

We met whenever rules allowed. While scaling remotely, we worked hard to keep the culture alive (and the memes flowing). Even from a distance, everyone felt it: we weren’t just working—we were building something big, together.

People

We hired fast, onboarded faster, and somehow still knew everyone’s pet’s name. Shoutout to the team members who joined us in this chaos and stuck around to make WebinarGeek even stronger.

Webinars are here to stay

With a brand-new streaming app and an NAF award under our belt, we proved webinars weren’t just a temporary trend—they’re here to stay. The corona years were behind us, but we were just getting started. Time to build, scale, and shine.

Product

By now, we were rolling out features like a bakery on Sunday morning. Multiple webinar team roles? Yup. In-depth stats? Done. Having the integrations you need? Absolutely. Our dev team was basically on fire

Customers

Little Leopard, Graniten, and Mario Burgard showed how it’s done. They used webinars to fix communication headaches and reach people all over the world. No more messy calls or lost messages—just clear, engaging stories that actually landed. That’s how you turn a challenge into a win.

Culture

With restrictions lifted, we finally came together again—parties, team days, spontaneous Friday drinks. The office vibe was sparkling, loud, and full of life. After years of video calls, it felt good to laugh in person, share ideas face-to-face, and remember why we love building this together.

People

We grew up a little (only a little). More structure, clearer roles, but still the same enthusiasm.

The best webinar software in the EU

What’s next? Even more automation, more personalization, and a few surprises we’re not allowed to talk about yet (but trust us—you’ll love it). We’re not done innovating, not even close.

Product

Smart features got even smarter. Think AI-generated content suggestions, automatic insights, and smoother interactions than your last date. Hosting a webinar became so intuitive, even your grandma could do it (and she should—her banana bread deserves an audience).

Customers

From enterprise powerhouses to solo entrepreneurs making a real impact—WebinarGeek empowered anyone with a message to reach thousands. Whether you're running a business of one or leading a full team, your story matters. And webinars made sure the right people heard it.

Culture

We’re not just a company—we’re a squad. A slightly geeky, very motivated team that still celebrates every product launch like it’s our birthday. The vibe? Kind, curious, and slightly obsessed with good coffee and fries .

People

We’ve got experts, creators, and dreamers. We laugh, we learn, we host like pros—and we’re still growing like it’s 2015.
